St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin says Scottish football should stand together against the introduction of vaccine passports.

The government are set to vote on a proposal in the coming hours that would come into effect from the start of October.

Football matches with crowds of over 10,000 would be impacted by the move.

Goodwin says people have the right to a choice and doesn't want to see people excluded if they haven't been vaccinated.

He said: "Personally I'm against it

"I don't believe it's very democratic and it's not something I would be urging the government to do.

"People should have a decision and a right to a choice whether they get vaccinated or not.

"Having to show vaccine passports when you're wanting to go to concerts and games of football is not something I would encourage.

"That's just my opinion on it. I know people out there will jump all over it and ask what education I have on politics.

"I've got none - but I've got an opinion on things and I believe people have got the right to a choice.

"I don't think this is something we should be forced into.

"I hope the SFA and the governing bodies and all of the football clubs stand up to it and don't agree to this kind of thing happening".
