St Johnstone's cup-double winning captain Jason Kerr has moved to Wigan Athletic.

The 24-year old will ply his trade in English League One this season after a fee of around £500,000 was agreed between the clubs.

Kerr wore the armband last season as the Saints won the Scottish Cup and League Cup.

He starred alongside Jamie McCart and Liam Gordon as the club secured a place in European qualifiers at the start of this season.

After coming through the youth system at McDiarmid Park, Kerr played 147 games for St Johnstone.

Kerr has signed a three-year deal with his new club.
