Istanbul Basaksehir turn down option to buy Boli Bolingoli
The full-back will return to Celtic after is loan spell in Turkey
Boli Bolingoli looks as if he will be returning to Celtic with Istanbul Basaksehir not taking up the option to buy the full-back.
The 25-year old spent last season on loan in Turkey making 18 appearances - including in the group stages of the Champions League.
His move came after he was criticised by the Parkhead side for breaking COVID-19 quarantine rules by flying to Spain without notifying the club.
Bolingoli then returned to training before being substituted on against Kilmarnock.
His actions were condemned by First Minster Nicola Sturgeon, with the Scottish Government calling for Celtic's next two matches to be postponed.
He also received a three-match ban from the Scottish FA before being shipped out on loan.
The arrival of new boss Ange Postecoglou could give his Hoops career a new lease of life - but it remains to be seen what the future holds for him at the club.
On his departure, Istanbul Basaksehir said: "The contract of Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo, who played successfully for one season under our orange-dark blue jersey, has expired.
"Our club has decided not to exercise the purchase option in the rental agreement with Celtic FC.
"We thank Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo for his efforts for our club and wish him success for the rest of his career".
