Ian McCall rejoins the Jags
Ian McCall is set to return to Partick Thistle after informing Ayr of his decision to accept the vacant managerial role at Firhill.
Thistle approached their former manager after sacking Gary Caldwell in midweek.
The 54-year old was previously in charge of the Jags between 2007 and 2011.
They’re currently bottom of the Championship with 2 draws and 4 losses from their opening 6 games.
A statement from the Ayr board read: "Ian McCall has informed the club of his decision to accept the position of manager with Partick Thistle. We are currently in discussions with Partick Thistle to agree compensation details.
"Sandy Stewart has agreed to take over the first-team manager's role in the interim and he will be assisted by Mark Kerr."
