Hearts boss Robbie Neilson has signed the striker he was looking for, with Armand Gnanduillet arriving on an 18-month deal.

The 28-year-old marksman joins from Turkish side Altay, subject to international clearance.

Gnanduillet has previously played for Blackpool, Leyton Orient and Chesterfield and had loan stints at Tranmere, Oxford and Stevenage.

Hearts sit six points clear of Dunfermline at the top of the Scottish Championship table.

Speaking to Hearts' official website, Neilson said: "It's no secret we've been looking for a striker and I'm delighted to get Armand in because he ticks all of the boxes.

"He's quick, strong and has a real presence about him and, of course, he can score goals. 2

"There was a lot of interest in him elsewhere from some big clubs so to get him signed up is a bit of a coup.

"He'll bring something different to the team and I'm looking forward to working with him.''
