Reo Hatate, Liel Abada and James Forrest ruled out of Rangers clash

The Celtic trio won't feature in the derby

Celtic trio Reo Hatate, Liel Abada and James Forrest have been ruled out of Saturday's match against Rangers.

Japanese midfielder Hatate missed last weekend's match away to Ross County and hasn't recovered in time to be considered for the Old Firm.

Liel Abada also sat out of that game while James Forrest has not featured since mid-February.

However, it appears to be positive news for Greg Taylor with Ange Postecoglou not listing him as one of the absentees for the game.

The manager said: "In terms of team news, Reo (Hatate), James Forrest and Liel (Abada) are all unavailable.

"Everyone else is good and ready to go."

A win for the Parkhead side would see them go 12 points clear of their rivals with just seven games left to play.

Postecoglou understands the significance of a victory but says nothing will be decided tomorrow.

He said: "It'll be exactly three points. Without being flippant about it, we're playing against the team closest to us and if we win that game it furthers that distance.

"The games are running out, we understand that, so it could have a major impact on the end of the season.

"Ultimately, nothing gets decided at the weekend.

"The players understand that. They're really good at focusing on what is before us right now.

"What is before us is the team that is second in the table and we have the opportunity to extend our lead at the top.

"But irrespective of what the outcome is, we've still got to front up the following week and make sure we perform again".
