Hamilton job 'not for me' says stand-in boss Beuzelin
Stand-in boss Guillaume Beuzelin has ruled himself out of the running for the Hamilton job.
Stand-in boss Guillaume Beuzelin has ruled himself out of the running for the Hamilton job.
The Frenchman was put in charge of Accies for the crunch home game against fellow Ladbrokes Premiership clash strugglers Dundee on Saturday following Tuesday's departure of Martin Canning.
Hamilton stated that the 37-year-old left by mutual agreement'', with Beuzelin and coach George Cairns taking temporary charge of first-team affairs but the Frenchman is
not at all'' interested in taking the job as head coach on a permanent basis.
Beuzelin, who described Canning's exit as a major shock'', said:
I am not a manager. When I see what they have to deal with day in, day out, it's not for me.
I prefer to be on the pitch coaching, that and managing is totally different.
Just now I am just focused on Saturday.
I have been told I have to take the team for Saturday and prepare the team as best I can, basically that's it, until someone arrives sooner rather than later.''
Former Hamilton defender Canning took over as player-boss in January 2015, succeeding Alex Neil but had been under fire from a section of the fans in recent weeks.
Accies have taken just one point from eight league games and sit in 10th place, two points above bottom side St Mirren.
Beuzelin will try to get the players into the right frame of mind for the home game against Dundee, who are only one point behind.
He said: We arrived at the same time, we were team mates before at Hibs, we done our coaching badges together so it was sad.
It has been a rollercoaster for the players and backroom staff.
We knew we were in a difficult situation but we didn't expect that to happen. It was a major shock for us.
I was happy with the response with the players yesterday.
We need to move on, we are paid for that. Our focus is just try to win on Saturday.''
Meanwhile, Hamilton have revealed that striker Rakish Bingham and winger Sam Kelly have both left the club in recent days
