Greg Taylor is facing a few weeks on the sidelines after picking up an injury against Buckie Thistle.

The 26-year old played the full 90 minutes of their 5-0 win over the Highland League side.

However, manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed he felt a calf strain towards the end of the match.

Taylor is now set to miss several games with the Parkhead side facing a problem at left-back.

Back up option Alexandro Bernabei has been out of favour and only featured four times this season.

Liam Scales is also capable of playing in that position, while youngster Mitchel Frame could also be called upon after making his debut at home to Feyenoord in December.

Rodgers said: “Greg will be out for a few weeks. Towards the game at the weekend he felt a slight strain in his calf.

"So sadly he’s out, which is a shame because he’s been excellent and very consistent over the course of the season so far.”

The Hoops boss has also ruled out selling Matt O'Riley this window.

He confirmed Celtic had rejected an offer from LaLiga side Atletico and added: "Matt is a player we don't want to lose and he won't be going anywhere in January.

"It's a great testament to him and what the club can do for a player. He won his first international cap this season and Atletico Madrid are a big club in European football.

"But he is very much part of what we are doing. He has been a joy to work with and I had a good chat with Matt this morning (Thursday) and he is someone who will be here for us in the second part of the season."
