Alex Gogic leaves Hibs for St Mirren until the summer

The Hibernian midfielder will play in Paisley after late move

St Mirren have signed Hibernian midfielder Alex Gogic on loan until the end of the season.

The Cypriot midfielder has fallen out of favour at Easter Road and bolster's Jim Goodwin's side, who are set to lose Jamie McGrath to Wigan Athletic.

The 27-year old has not played since before Christmas but will be hoping to feature for St Mirren as soon as possible, with the Buddies hosting Motherwell in the Premiership on Tuesday.

A St Mirren statement read: "Alex becomes our third signing of the January transfer window followinf the moves that brought Alex Greive and Jordan Jones to Paisley this month.

"Saints manager Jim Goodwin has been a long-time admirer of the Cypriot international who began his career with Greek giants Olympiakos."

Gogic has made 53 appearances for Hibs and has scored once.

He previously played for Hamilton Academical, impressing across four seasons.
