Glasgow City win SWPL title after dramatic final day
Lauren Davidson's late goal at Ibrox handed Glasgow City the title
Glasgow City have clinched the SWPL 1 title after an injury time goal from Lauren Davidson.
All three of Glasgow City, Celtic and Rangers could have finished top of the table on the final day.
Fran Alonso's Hoops moved into the driving seat on the day as they took a 2-0 lead over Hearts at Celtic Park.
A draw at Ibrox between Rangers and Glasgow City would have seen Celtic lift the trophy.
However, Lauren Davidson found the bottom corner right at the death to give City a 1-0 victory and clinch the league championship.
Leanne Ross' side will also play European football next season along with Celtic.
Malky Thomson's Rangers finish the campaign third in the table and will miss out on European football.
