Former Rangers striker Arveladze lands Hull City job
The 48-year-old has managed in the Netherlands, Turkey & Israel
Former Rangers striker Shota Arveladze has been unveiled as Hull City's new head coach on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
He replaces Grant McCann, who was sacked on Tuesday.
The 48-year-old has previously managed in the Netherlands, Turkey and Israel, whilst his last club were FC Pakhtakor Tashkent of Uzbekistan.
The Georgian has been appointed by new owner Acun Ilicali, whose Turkish company recently took over the club.
Arveladze told the Hull City FC website: "I believe everyone who is in this sector wants to be in England and I am just really happy and my family is proud.
"I like attractive football when supporters are on your side - they want to come, they love to come and watch the game.
"We're going to try and show really good football, attacking football. The main target is always going to be to win.
"Let's do this together, let's cheer together and let's win together."
Hull are 19th in the Championship, nine points above the relegation zone and host Swansea City on Saturday.
Arveladze was a big hit in Glasgow, scoring 57 goals in 132 games across four seasons, lifting five trophies along the way.
He remains Gerogia's top scorer with 26 goals and also had successful spells playing for Trabzonspor and Ajax.
He moved in to management with his final club AZ Alkmaar, learning as an assistant to coaches including Louis van Gaal, Dick Advocaat and Ronald Koeman.
His first senior role was in 2010 at Turkish side Kayserispor, before he took further jobs in Turkey and Israel.
Arvelaze's only managerial success to date came with Uzbek team Pakhtakor, where he guided them to a league and cup double in both 2018-19 and 2019-20.
