Dundee United midfielder Callum Butcher could face retrospective action
The defender was booked for his challenge on Celtic's David Turnbull on Sunday
Dundee United midfielder Calum Butcher could face another suspension following his foul on Celtic's David Turnbull.
The Scottish Football Association compliance officer is reviewing the incident and has until 3pm on Tuesday to determine whether Butcher should face retrospective punishment.
Half-time substitute Butcher caught the Celtic midfielder with his studs high up the shin after sliding in to get the ball.
Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher was in no doubt Butcher deserved to be sent off after viewing the footage.
Gallagher told Sky Sports News: "I don't think the referee has got the view that we've got, because if he's got this view, he would certainly red-card.
"It's high, it's straight-legged, studs point of contact."
Referee Don Robertson gave Butcher a yellow card after the foul, after appearing to consult his fourth official on the severity of the offence.
If compliance officer Andrew Phillips decides the incident is worth pursuing, he must get unanimous backing from three former match officials that the offence merited a red card.
Butcher had sat out the previous two games after being sent off for violent conduct following an incident with Aberdeen striker Christian Ramirez.
