Rangers have wrapped up their ninth summer signing after finally completing the capture of Graham Dorrans.

Gers boss Pedro Caixinha has been chasing the Norwich midfielder for weeks and has now got his man after Ibrox chiefs agreed a deal, which Clyde Sport understands to be worth up to £1.5million.

His arrival on a three-year deal will provide the Light Blues faithful with some much-needed cheer after this week's shock Europa League exit

The 30-year-old boyhood Gers supporter flew into Edinburgh on Wednesday night to seal his move.

After spells with Livingston, West Brom and the Canaries, the 12-cap Scotland international is now looking forward to returning to his home city.

Dorrans told RangersTV: "It feels incredible. It has been a long couple of weeks but to finally get it over the line is an incredible feeling and I just can't wait to get the boots on and get started.''

It has been a bruising week for the Govan side after they were sent tumbling out of Europe by Luxembourg minnows Progres Niederkorn on Tuesday.

There was further anguish when winger Barrie McKay was allowed to depart for Nottingham Forest for just £500,000.

The club is also facing calls that they should be stripped of titles after judges at the Supreme Court dismissed an appeal by the liquidators of oldco Rangers against their Big Tax Case ruling.

But Dorrans insists there was never any second thoughts about his move despite Gers' recent troubles.

"I don't think there is ever a wrong time to come to a football club like this,'' he said.

"The size of this football club is incredible - I've obviously had great times down in England, especially at West Brom, but growing up, I knew I always wanted to come to this football club and when the chance came around I jumped at it.'
