Disappointed McCann critical of Dundee players after opening day defeat

Dundee manager Neil McCann criticised his team's performance as they lost 2-1 to Ross County in their opening-day Ladbrokes Premiership match at Dens Park.
Goals from Jamie Lindsay and Christopher Routis ensured a hard-working success for Jim McIntyre's men.
It meant McCann was denied the victory he had been aiming for in his first league match since taking over as Dundee manager on a permanent basis earlier in the summer, after a spell in caretaker charge.
He said: “We're really disappointed with this opening to the league campaign.
“We had a couple of chances early on and we started to force things towards the end when we looked dangerous.
“But the big section in between wasn't good enough really. There were no signs of it either.
“We were really positive going into the match but I thought we let Ross County dominate us.
“The disappointing thing is it's two set-pieces which have cost us.
“There's things there that happened during the game which leave you pretty annoyed.
“But the biggest thing for me was the middle section of the game which annoyed me most, nowhere near good enough.
Meanwhile, County manager McIntyre heaped praise on his side.
He said: “I was really pleased with how we played, especially in the first half.
“We probably should have got more for our efforts but we passed the ball well and handled most things that Dundee threw at us.
“It's a really tough place to come so it's a great start for us and we look forward to Wednesday now."
