Devante Cole turns down Motherwell offer to join Barnsley
The striker has chosen to move to the English Championship
Devante Cole has joined Barnsley after rejecting a contract offer from Motherwell.
Graham Alexander was keen to hold onto the striker who was their top scorer last season.
He bagged 12 goals in 31 appearances at the Fir Park side.
The 26-year old also had a spell on loan at Motherwell the season before where he scored 4 times in 19 appearances.
The club said: "We thank Devante for all his contributions at Motherwell and wish him the very best for the future".
Upon sealing his move to Barnsley, Cole told their club website: “I’m really happy to be back. I was here a good few years ago and I really enjoyed my time; I kind of wish I didn’t leave, so it feels good to be back.
“The fans were always great and it was a good group of boys then, and I’ve heard it’s a very good group now so, hopefully, it can be the same again and more successful".
