St Mirren striker Kristian Dennis has left the club to join Carlisle United on a permanent deal, just one hour before the transfer window shuts.

The 31-year old joined the Paisley side in the summer of 2020 and scored six goals in 39 appearances.

He scored the opening goal in the Buddies famous 2-1 win over Celtic at Parkhead last season but only scored once this campaign.

A club statement read: "St Mirren Football Club can confirm that Kristian Dennis has departed the club to sign for Carlisle United.

"Having joined Saints from Notts County in August 2020, Kristian leaves Paisley after scoring six goals in 39 appearances for the Buddies - the last of which came in a Premier Sports Cup group stage win against Stenhousemuir in July.

"We thank Kristian for his service to St Mirren and wish him the best for his future."

The Buddies are set to lose Jamie McGrath to Wigan Athletic, but have brought in midfielder Alex Gogic and winger Jordan Jones today.

The face Motherwell in the Premiership on Tuesday.
