Hamilton say David Templeton has said farewell to the club following the expiration of his contract.

Midfielder Danny Redmond, defenders Georgios Sarris and Xavier Tomas and back-up goalkeeper Darren Jamieson have also left the club.

Manager Martin Canning refused to give up hope of Templeton re-signing after the last game of the season on Saturday, but it appears he will move on.

The club wrote on Twitter that Templeton was among a number of players who "have said their Goodbyes''.

The former Hearts and Rangers winger was Accies' top goalscorer with nine strikes this season.

Meanwhile, Redmond wrote on Twitter: "I won't be renewing my contract at @acciesfc time to move on and get more game time!

"It's been a great 4 years, met some great people and had some great memories! Like to thank all staff & players at the club and mostly the fans, who have been excellent with me!''

It had already been announced that Ali Crawford and Aberdeen-bound midfielder Lewis Ferguson were leaving the club as Canning prepares for his biggest summer rebuild yet
