Clyde have signed David Goodwillie on loan from Raith Rovers until the end of the season.

Clyde 1 Superscoreboard understands the move was completed before last night's loan deadline with the transfer set to be officially announced later today.

Raith Rovers side faced a significant backlash for bringing in the striker during the January transfer window.

Sponsors cut ties with the club and employees resigned because in a civil court case in 2017 Goodwillie was found to have raped a woman.

Chairman John Sim made a quick u-turn and released a statement saying the former Scotland international wouldn't feature for the club.

Manager John McGlynn also apologised for his part in the signing.

Goodwillie was captain of Clyde before his move to Raith Rovers and scored over 100 goals for them over a five year period.

He'll return to Broadwood on a temporary deal until the summer when the move could be made permanent.
