Celtic Women reach Champions League group stage

Published 26th Sep 2024

Celtic have become the first Scottish side to reach the Women's Champions League group stage.

Goals from Emma Lawton and Murphy Agnew sealed a 2-0 win over Vorskla Poltava on Thursday night - meaning they progressed 3-0 on aggregate.

Both legs of the play-off were played at their home ground in Airdrie due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Elena Sadiku's side will now go into the hat for the group stage draw where they could face the likes of Barcelona, Lyon, Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

The draw will take place on Friday September 27.
