Celtic have completed the signing of South Korean striker Hyeongyu Oh.

The 21-year old joins from Suwon Bluewings on a five-year deal and becomes Ange Postecoglou's fourth addition of the January window.

Oh scored 13 goals in the K-League 1 last season as his side narrowly avoided relegation.

He joins for a reported fee of ÂŁ2.5million.

The Parkhead side also showed an interest in Gue-Sung Cho, the division's top scorer in 2022, but a move failed to materialise.

Postecoglou's has dipped into the Korean market for the first time after making six signings from Japan during his time at Celtic.

Tomoki Iwata and Yuki Kobayashi both joined from the J-League this window.

Canadian international Alistair Johnston was also brought in this month.

Speaking to the club's official website, Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou said: “We are delighted to bring Oh to Celtic.

“He is a young, talented striker with great attributes and someone who is ready to take the next stage in his career – a player who is hungry, eager to develop and to achieve success.

“I have watched Oh for some time and he is the striker I really wanted as I think he will be a great fit in our squad.

“Really importantly, I know that he had his heart set on joining us too and that his own perseverance has been crucial in making this deal happen, so his determination to join Celtic has been very clear.

“We are really pleased to welcome him to the Club and look forward to working with him and settling him into our squad.”

Josip Juranovic left the club over the weekend in an initial ÂŁ7.5million move to Union Berlin, while the addition of Oh will raise further speculation around the future of Giorgos Giakoumakis.
