Celtic sign Barcelona defender Álex Valle on loan
Celtic have completed the loan signing of Barcelona left-back Alex Valle.
The 20-year old joins the Parkhead side for the season as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his squad ahead of Friday's deadline.
Valle has featured for the Spanish giants' B team and also spent time on loan at FC Andorra and Levante.
He also made three friendly appearances for their top team during pre-season against Manchester City, Real Madrid and AC Milan.
The Spanish youth international will compete with Greg Taylor for a spot in the starting lineup for the Hoops this season.
Speaking to Celtic TV, he said: “I’m very excited, it’s a great opportunity to come to this historic club.
"They have given me a lot of confidence to come here, so I will try to do my best to return the confidence.
“I’ve heard a lot about the fans and and what we can experience in this stadium, so I’m just excited to see it in real life.”
Rodgers is expected to continue to add to his squad following the club-record departure of Matt O'Riley to Brighton.
