Celtic youngster Rocco Vata could exit the club before Friday's transfer deadline.
The 18-year old featured four times under Ange Postecoglou last season but has found himself back training with the Parkhead side's B team this campaign.
It is understood Vata is keen to explore the option of more regular first team football elsewhere.
Vata has scored six times in five appearances across the Lowland League and Challenge Cup since the summer.
He is entering the final year of his current deal and would be allowed to sign a pre-contract for a compensation fee in January.
However, a move this week would be the priority as the Republic of Ireland youth international looks to progress his career.
Brendan Rodgers is also hopeful of strengthening his squad before the end of the week.
Celtic are set to announce the signing of Honduran winger Luis Palma in a deal worth £3.5million.
An experienced centre-back is also high on his shopping list following injuries to Cameron Carter-Vickers, Maik Nawrocki and Stephen Welsh.
Liverpool defender Nat Phillips has been linked in a potential loan move.
