Bayo quits Celtic for Belgian side Gent
Striker only started two matches for the Hoops
Striker Vakoun Bayo has sealed a move away from Celtic as new manager Ange Postecoglou continues to shape his squad for the new campaign.
The Ivory Coast forward has joined Belgian side Gent on a permanent transfer after spending last season on loan with Toulouse in France's Ligue 2.
The 24-year-old joined Celtic in January 2019 from Slovakian side Dunajska Streda, but his chances were limited. He was credited with two goals in 17 appearances, most of which were off the bench.
Bayo impressed during his loan spell in France with 12 goals, including one in the playoff defeat to Nantes that denied Toulouse promotion.
They had an option to buy him, but club president Damien Comolli wanted him to return to the club on loan instead.
Gent Sports Manager Tim Matthys was delighted with the piece of business, telling the club website: "Vakoun is a fast and agile striker who is very strong offensively. He is a player who will offer our coach many opportunities up front."
His exit from Parkhead follows the permanent departure of Jack Hendry to fellow Belgian side KV Oostende while Polish striker Patryk Klimala was sold to New York Red Bulls in April.
