Celtic issue warning to supporters ahead of Lazio clash
Tensions have been heightened between the sides after last month's match in Glasgow
Celtic have drawn up emergency advice to supporters ahead of Thursday’s Europa League match against Lazio.
Fans of the Italian club marched through Glasgow two weeks ago making fascist salutes, with Celtic fans reacting in the ground with banners aimed at the travelling support.
There are now concerns that tensions could spill over in the Italian capital this week, with the Parkhead side issuing warnings.
Supporters are being told to avoid wearing club colours and stay in large groups in order to stay as safe as possible.
They’ve also been advised not to make their own way to the Stadio Olimpico, with a shuttle service being provided.
A ban on the selling of alcohol has also been sanctioned in the city centre from 5pm on Wednesday until 7am on Friday, with anyone caught drinking in the street also facing a fine.
Any banners containing political content will not be allowed in the stadium, while supporters are banned from bringing bags into the ground.
Police will also decide how long Celtic fans will be kept in the stadium after the game - which could be up to an hour.
