Celtic continue hunt for goalkeeper as deadline draws near
Brendan Rodgers hopes to add a goalkeeper and an outfield player to his Celtic squad before the transfer window closes on Wednesday night but remains coy about names.
Before the 3-1 win over Heart at Parkhead on Tuesday night it was revealed that Motherwell had not been tempted by the reported £200,000 offer for goalkeeper Trevor Carson as Celtic search for a replacement for Craig Gordon, who is out for 12 weeks with a knee injury.
Asked afterwards if Dundee keeper Scott Bain, on loan at Hibernian, was a target, the Celtic manager said: "I will needs to speak to Peter (Lawwell, chief executive). Nothing has changed from before the game, we want to bring in another goalkeeper.
"There was lot of names fired at us, agents doing lots of work. There are lots of names. I could sit here all day and go through the names fired at us. He (Bain) is one of many that has been mentioned.
"We will have one in by end of play by tomorrow (Wednesday)."
Asked about another bid for Dundee defender Jack Hendry, he said: "I don't know. I will find out."
Before the match Hearts boss Craig Levein told BBC Scotland: "I'm hopeful we'll do another couple of pieces of (transfer) business tomorrow. It's not absolutely necessary but it would help us."
Rangers manager Graeme Murty is hoping to hang on to top goalscorer Alfredo Morelos after an unnamed Chinese club opened negotiations over a possible transfer.
Murty insists there is no "economic necessity" to sell the Colombian, although he could get less influential players off the Ibrox wage bill before the deadline.
St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright is hoping to wrap up four deals in the final stages of the window, with Fulham and Wales winger George Williams and Aberdeen wide player Scott Wright close to loan deals.
He is also aiming to bring in a player from a foreign league and has been trying to persuade Kilmarnock to part with Rory McKenzie.
Aberdeen are confident of signing a goalkeeper after Joe Lewis was ruled out for up to three months with a knee injury.
Hibernian are tying up the final details of a loan move for Grasshoppers striker Florian Kamberi.
"We are close to getting Florian in," manager Neil Lennon said. "We are just waiting on international clearance so hopefully he will be in the squad (against Motherwell on Wednesday).
"He's been training with us for over a week now and I think we're pretty close to getting it done."
Ross County and Dundee are both keen on making additions while Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson aims to sign at least one more player, with a striker a priority following the departure of Alex Fisher and an injury to Ryan Bowman.
Kilmarnock, Partick Thistle and Hamilton are less likely to be busy but there could still be comings and goings in the final 24 hours
