Celtic complete signing of MK Dons midfielder Matt O'Riley
The 21-year old becomes Ange Postecoglou's fifth signing of the window
Celtic have completed the signing of MK Dons midfielder Matt O'Riley.
The 21-year old becomes Ange Postecoglou's fifth signing of the January window and joins on a four-and-a-half year deal.
The Parkhead side have already drafted in Japanese trio Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi, with Sligo Rovers striker Johnny Kenny also arriving at the club.
O'Riley joins for a fee in the region of £1.5million and could be in the squad to face Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Cup on Saturday.
Speaking to Celtic TV, O'Riley said: “It feels amazing. It's my first time taking the stadium in. It’s even better than I thought it would be and I’m really happy to be here."
Manager Ange Postecoglou spoke to the Celtic FC website, adding: “We’re delighted to get Matt into the club. He’s someone who should fit in well with the group we have here, both from on the field and also the kind of person he is.
“We’re looking forward to having him as part of the group. He’s a talented young player and I’m sure he’ll enjoy his time here, and I’m sure he’ll add to what we’ve already started.”
The former England under-18 international has scored seven goals and racked up five assists in League One down south this season.
