Former Celtic winger Aiden McGeady announces retirement

Former Celtic winger Aiden McGeady has announced his retirement from professional football.
The 38-year old left Ayr United earlier this month and has now decided to call time on his career.
McGeady came through the youth ranks at Parkhead and made his debut in 2004 at the age of 18 in a league match against Hearts.
He would go on to become a regular starter at the Hoops for the next six seasons - winning four league titles, two Scottish Cups and one League Cup.
Despite being born in Scotland, McGeady opted to represent the Republic of Ireland at international level from a young age.
He played 93 times for his country, scoring five goals.
The tricky midfielder left Celtic in 2010 for a spell in Russia with Spartak Moscow before moving to Everton.
He also had a successful spell with Sunderland where they won the League One promotion play-off final in 2022.
McGeady would return to Scotland for the final spell of his career where he played for both Hibernian and Ayr United.
