Motherwell defender Cedric Kipre has won his appeal against the red card he was given against Celtic on Sunday.

The 21-year-old French defender was handed his marching orders by referee Craig Thomson late in the first half of the 0-0 draw at Fir Park following a collision with Scott Brown in which he appeared to flick out at the Hoops skipper and make little contact.

Kipre was ruled not to have used 'excessive force' which has seen his red card downgraded to a yellow, and will now be free to face Rangers a week on Saturday

Manager Stephen Robinson told the club's official website: "It is a sensible outcome, something that all parties agree with.

"Cedric is now available for our upcoming games, which are hugely important as we try and reach the top six. We can now draw a line under things and move on.'
