Cardoso learning from Alves partnership at Rangers
Fabio Cardoso believes he can learn to be a star for Rangers playing alongside Bruno Alves.
The 23-year-old Portuguese centre-back has struck up a burgeoning partnership alongside his decorated compatriot after joining up with Gers this summer.
Boss Pedro Caixinha described Euro 2016 winner Alves as the "best professor" for Cardoso as he looks to grasp the finer points of defending.
And now the the former Benfica trainee has vowed to soak up as much as he can from a team-mate who boasts 93 caps' worth of experience.
He told RangersTV: "Bruno's very good. He's a very good player - one of the best centre-backs from my country.
"I am learning a lot and I know I will learn and grow as a player the more I play beside Bruno.
"He's very good with the ball and without it. He's very good with the physical side and the tactical parts.
"For me it is incredible to play alongside Bruno."
Cardoso - signed for £1.3million from Vitoria Setubal - helped the Light Blues get back to winning ways on Sunday against Ross County as his side battled to a 3-1 win.
It was a welcome result after defeat to Hibernian and a draw with Hearts saw the Ibrox men spill five of the first nine points available to them.
But Cardoso says the Rangers players are not feeling any additional strain so early into the campaign.
"Sunday's win tastes very good," he said. "We train all week to win and this win is a reflection of our work.
"When we are in a club like Rangers, a massive club, and have supporters like the Rangers fans, who are amazing, then there is pressure all the time because we want to give them the win they deserve.
"So the pressure is normal to us and we are used to it. There is always pressure here to win.
