Brendan Rodgers 'on the brink' of agreeing Celtic return

Brendan Rodgers could be on the verge of accepting Celtic's offer to return as manager four years after his controversial exit.

Parkhead officials have spoken to the Northern Irishman about taking over from Ange Postecoglou after his move to Tottenham.

The Scottish Sun are now reporting positive talks have taken place with owner Dermot Desmond today Rodgers is now on the brink of agreeing to the move.

Chief executive Michael Nicholson and finance director Chris McKay had already flown to Mallorca to hold talks with the former Liverpool boss.

Desmond and chairman Peter Lawwell are reportedly now confident Rodgers will accept the opportunity to take over at the club again.

Rodgers led the Hoops to seven trophies out of a possible seven in his first spell in charge - including a double treble.

However, he faced backlash for the way he left the club after quitting mid-season to take over at Leicester City.
