Barrie McKay and Stephen Kingsley earn Scotland call-ups as three drop out
The duo come into the squad as Kieran Tierney, Scott McTominay and Scott McKenna drop out
Hearts duo Barrie McKay and Stephen Kingsley have been called up to the Scotland squad with three players dropping out.
Kieran Tierney has been forced to withdraw after picking up an injury during Saturday's 2-1 win over Ireland at Hampden.
Scott McKenna is also out of the squad, while Scott McTominay won't travel to Poland for Tuesday's crunch clash with Ukraine because he is suspended.
The Manchester United midfielder will miss the match after being booked over the weekend.
Steve Clarke said he would look at reinforcements with McKay and Kingsley now rewarded for their fine club form.
Both players have been capped once by the national side - and their appearances came in the same friendly match against France in 2016.
Earlier in this international window, manager Steve Clarke had already sent a message to the pair that they were being watched - despite Declan Gallagher and Josh Doig being chosen at that stafe.
He said: “He’s done great has Stephen. I just felt that with the experience Declan has, he was the one I thought of.
"I also saw him play at the weekend and he did very, very well against Celtic. Declan (Gallagher) with his experience just shaded Stephen. But Stephen Kingsley, Barrie McKay, Lawrence Shankland, I’m watching them all the time. I know they are there."
