Celtic have completed the signing of Aston Villa goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo.

The 22-year old joins on a five-year deal for a reported fee of £1million.

He is one of two additions between the sticks with the arrival of Kasper Schmeichel imminent.

Brendan Rodgers had highlighted that area of the pitch as a priority following the retirement of Joe Hart at the end of last season.

Sinisalo failed to make a senior appearance for the Villans but has experienced senior football in loan spells with Ayr United, Burton Albion and Exeter City.

He has also been capped three times by Finland - with his most recent appearance coming in the second half of their 2-2 draw with Scotland at Hampden in June.

After completing the move, Sinisalo told CelticTV: "I know Celtic is a huge football club and it’s really exciting to be part of something so big. It feels amazing."

Manager Brendan Rodgers added: "I am delighted to welcome Vil to Celtic. He is a keeper with real qualities and someone we have been aware of and monitored for some time.

"Clearly we have been looking to develop our goalkeeping team and we are really pleased to have secured one of the talented keepers we really wanted."
