Motherwell midfielder Allan Campbell is eager to impress in another new environment he prepares for the Toulon Tournament with Scotland's under-21's.

The 19-year old has just come to the end of his breakthrough campaign, making 36 first-team appearances for the Steelmen, playing in two cup finals and getting his first taste of international football.

Now he hopes the tournament in France - where Scotland face Togo, the hosts and South Korea in the group stages - can prepare him for major international competitions in years to come.

"The 21s is the first time I have been involved with Scotland,'' he said.

"It's been a great learning experience, especially going away to different countries and trying to test yourself and see what level you need to be at to compete and what I need to work on.''

Speaking ahead of Sunday's opener against Togo, he added: Coming away playing so many games in the conditions, it's going to be warm, it's going to be hard. Recovery is going to be key.

"It's going to be a good learning experience if that ever comes up, and hopefully it does, getting to a major competition and you have experience with how to manage your body and recover.'
