Alfredo Morelos closing in on Rangers switch
Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos flew into Edinburgh airport on Monday morning ahead of his expected move to Rangers.
The 20-year-old is set to become the sixth player to join an Ibrox squad which is undergoing some major rebuilding by Portuguese boss Pedro Caixinha.
Morelos, who plays for Finnish side HJK Helsinki, will join former Aberdeen skipper Ryan Jack, Bruno Alves, Daniel Candeias, Fabio Cardoso and Dalcio who have already been recruited.
Rangers are also hoping to secure work permits for Mexican pair Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera, while reports claim they are stepping up efforts to sign Scotland midfielder Graham Dorrans from Norwich.
Meanwhile, Caixinha has claimed all his new recruits so far are first choices.
Candeias signed a two-year deal from Benfica to become the fifth summer signing of a hectic transfer window.
Speaking to RangersTV, Caixinha, who worked with Candeias at Nacional in Portugal, said: "It has been a busy week for everyone.
"We are delighted with the signings we have as all of them are our first options, and it's very good things are going like that.
"Daniel is a fantastic guy and a great player. He is someone who I had the pleasure of working with four or five years ago, and he is a winger who can perform on the right and on the left.
"He is also very skilful on the set-pieces like corners and wide free-kicks, and he is someone who really sacrifices to help the team all the time, both in attack and defence, and I believe he is going to help us to have strong play, particularly in the wide areas.
"I think we need more width in the last third, and we need more aggression in that part of the pitch.
"We need to be more aggressive attacking full-backs, attacking spaces, arrivals, having associations with the strikers and to put more crosses in.
"That is what we are looking to have in our attacking side."
