Motherwell boss Graham Alexander says signing Liam Kelly on a permanent basis is a huge boost for the club.

The goalkeeper spent the second half of last season on loan from QPR and kept seven clean sheets in 21 appearances.

He was voted players' player of the year at Fir Park and the club pulled out all the stops to bring him back this summer.

The 25-year old has now returned on a three-year deal and Graham Alexander says it's a big piece of business from the club.

He told the club website: “It’s brilliant to have Liam back with us and even better that he’s now our player.

“It’s been a long process but the board have been great with their patience and backing as we worked to get this deal done.

“We all saw Liam’s qualities first-hand last season, and I know how much he enjoyed his time with us previously.

“His ability, professionalism and drive will improve us again. Everyone is delighted to see him back in a Motherwell shirt.”

Kelly started his career at Rangers where he failed to make a breakthrough.

However, he made his mark during a loan spell at Livingston who made the move to sign him permanently,

His performances at the Tony Macaroni Arena earned him a switch to Queens Park Rangers in 2019.
