Partick Thistle manager Alan Archibald could not hide his disappointment after his side conceded a stoppage-time equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Inverness.

The Jags were on the verge of collecting a fourth consecutive Scottish Premiership victory after Kris Doolan netted his 99th goal for the club early in the second half.

The home side dominated possession throughout the game but were stunned by a header from Caley captain Gary Warren two minutes into added time.

Archibald said: "We did the hard bit, we got the goal. It was an awkward pitch to play on today.

"We had a lot of the ball first half and I think the substitutions of the injured Steven Lawless and Abdul Osman interrupted the game as well.

"We should have seen the game out. We looked comfortable enough but we've got to stop the cross coming in the box for the Inverness goal.

"The hard bit was scoring today. Inverness are hard to play against. They went with three centre-backs and it was really hard to get in behind them.

"We did that. We got the goal. A good goal as well. But we've got to see the game out.''

Inverness boss Richie Foran admitted he was not surprised by the late equaliser as his side recorded a precious point in the fight against relegation.

He said: "I always believe we'll score goals. I know it's late in the game but when you've got the calibre of players that we have, we've scored a lot of goals this season, we've scored late goals this season.

"That will be a pivotal game for us come the end of the season, a great point.

"We've got a huge point against a really good team.

"We've dealt with a lot of crosses into the box very, very well. We defended courageously so I'm delighted with that. I definitely think we deserved the point.''

Foran also revealed he is still looking for an explanation for his team's disallowed goal.

Henri Anier had the ball in the net on the stroke of half-time but it was ruled out as Billy McKay was adjudged to be offside.

The Caley manager added: "I'd like to see the disallowed goal again. I'm not sure about that. I'll have to see it on TV.

"Billy McKay was definitely in an offside position, we'll take that, but was he interfering with the line of vision of the goalkeeper? I'm not sure.

"I like to go off the player's reaction. I didn't see the goalkeeper complaining when the goal went in.''
