Advocaat inists Holland taking friendly with Scotland seriously
Holland boss Dick Advocaat has told Scotland fans to expect to see a fully committed Dutch side at Pittodrie.
Both countries are beginning a rehabilitation process following their failure to reach the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The Scots' interim coach Malky Mackay named eight uncapped players in his squad but the visitors retain the bulk of their group although Arjen Robben has retired from international football and Ajax's Donny van de Beek and Sergio Padt of FC Groningen are uncapped.
Advocaat, whose contract ends after the friendly game against Romania next Tuesday, insists his players have their international futures to play for and thus will be taking the fixture seriously.
"That's what we always try to do," he said.
"I always think that there are no friendly matches. It is a real match. Tomorrow it is important.
"Next season will be a new start and those players who play tomorrow and next Tuesday, they can show the people if they are the right players or not.
"And it is the same for Scotland, who also have some new players in the team, they want to show their manager as well that they are good enough to become international players.
"So it is quite interesting from both sides."
Advocaat, 70, was aware that most of the attention surrounding him was with regards the vacant manager's post at Rangers, whom he bossed between 1998 and 2001.
Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes, who played under the Dutchman at Ibrox, is the front runner.
"I already gave the answer about that," said Advocaat.
"I know Derek McInnes as a real professional as a player but I don't know him as a coach.
