Aberdeen complete late loan deal for Dilan Markanday from Blackburn
The former Tottenham forward joins until the end of the season
Aberdeen have completed a last gasp January transfer signing by securing Dilan Markanday on loan until the end of the season.
The Blackburn Rovers winger becomes their sixth addition of the window.
Markanday is a product of the Tottenham Hotspur youth academy and made his only appearance for them in a 1–0 UEFA Europa Conference League away defeat against Vitesse in October 2021.
He then secured a permanent move to Blackburn in January 2022 but has failed to break into their first team on a regular basis.
However, the winger has scored twice in four EFL Cup appearances this season.
The Pittodrie club also shipped out two players before Tuesday's midnight deadline.
Captain Anthony Stewart sealed a loan move to MK Dons.
Forward Vicente Besuijen returned to the Netherland to join Excelsior Rotterdam for the remainder of the season.
The Eredivisie side retain the option to sign him on a permanent basis in the summer.
