Marshall To Lead Out Team Scotland
Bowls hero Alex Marshall will cap a golden Glasgow 2014 for himself and Team Scotland by leading his country out at the closing ceremony. The 47-year-old doubled his personal gold medal tally to four - equalling a record held by Allan Wells - after winning all 14 games he played during the Kelvingrove competitions. The Tranent bowler, nicknamed Tattie, provided one of the most memorable Scottish moments of the Games when he celebrated his match-winning shot against England in the pairs semi-finals. And Commonwealth Games Scotland have given him an even more momentous personal experience by naming him the flagbearer for Sunday night's Hampden celebration, when Scotland mark more than a half-century of medals.
