Years & Years will not be performing at Glasgow Green's TRNSMT festival, due to illness.

The band were due to play the main stage today, but lead singer Olly Alexander revealed he had been advised by doctors to pull out, due to an infection.

In a statement posted to his Instagram page, Alexander wrote: "I'm so sorry for this but I won't be performing tomorrow at TRNSMT, I have an infection and my doctor has told me I'm not well enough to do the show.

"I'm really sorry to anybody hoping to see us, I hate to do this and I'm absolutely gutted to not be there.

"I hope everybody has a great time at the festival and hopefully we can come back another time."

Indie band The Strokes will headline on Saturday evening, with Bathgate's Lewis Capaldi closing the show on Sunday evening.
