A man has died after an incident at a recycling plant in Linwood.

Emergency services were called to William Tracey on Burnbrae Road at around 12.30pm today.

The Health and Safety Executive has been made aware and are investigating along with Police.

A spokesperson for the waste management firm says they are working with investigators and their thoughts are with the workers family and colleagues at this tragic time.

A company spokesperson said: "William Tracey Group is deeply saddened to confirm that an employee has died as a result of an accident at our Burnbrae Road site, Linwood.

"We are working closely with the police and our Health & Safety team as they investigate the incident. Our first thoughts are with our employee’s family and colleagues as we support them at this tragic time."

A spokeswoman for the Health and Safety Executive said: "I can confirm that HSE has been made aware of this incident and we have attended the site. We are jointly investigating the circumstances alongside the police who are in the lead."
