Woman in a stable condition after being knocked down in city centre

The 46-year old was hit by a taxi in North Hanover Street

An appeal's been launched for witnesses after a woman was knocked down by a private taxi in Glasgow City centre on Saturday night.

The 46-year old was crossing North Handover street when she was hit by the silver Toyota Avensis at 11:45pm.

Emergency services attended and the woman was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where she remains in a stable condition.

Sergeant Kenneth Canavan said: “Officers would like to speak to anyone who was on North Hanover Street around the time of the incident, who either witnessed what happened or may have seen a silver Toyota Avensis taxi driving in the area.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Govan via 101.”
