A woman has been robbed at knifepoint in her Glasgow flat by three men who stole a five-figure sum of money.

The men, two of them wearing medical-type masks, entered the woman's flat in Dumbarton Road, at around 5.25pm on Sunday and threatened her with the weapon.

They demanded money and possessions and made off with the cash, running behind the property and on to a cycle path.

The woman, 48, was not injured but was left distressed by the incident, and police are now appealing for information about the robbery.

Detective Constable Ross Thomson said: “The men who carried out this crime are cowards, targeting a 48-year-old woman within her home in this way is despicable and it's imperative we trace these men.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and who was on the cycle path around the time of the incident for any information they may have.

“Perhaps you saw the men running up the cycle path?”

He added: “Any small piece of information could prove important as we continue our investigation into this crime.”

The first suspect is white, around 6ft with a muscular build. He was wearing a black hooded top with green and blue stripes around the neck and chest, black trousers and a white medical-type mask.

The second suspect is around 5ft, of slim build and was wearing a black hooded top, black trousers and a black medical-type mask over his face.

The third suspect is white, also around 5ft and was wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2942 of May 3 2020 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
