Woman left in a critical condition after hit and run in Glasgow

Police say she was struck by a red car on Bell Street last night, near to its junction with Parsonage Square, at around 11:50pm.

A woman's been left in a critical condition following a hit and run incident in Glasgow.

Police say she was struck by a red car on Bell Street last night, near to its junction with Parsonage Square, at around 11:50pm.

The woman, who is being described as "unidentified," was then taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where hospital staff describe her condition as critical.

Sergeant Paul Mellis of the Road Policing Unit said: “The car failed to stop at the time and extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace the car and its occupants.

“This is a busy area and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident take place, who has not yet spoken to police, or anyone with information or any personal footage that may assist our investigation to contact us through 101 quoting reference number 4941 of 10 June.”
