80 year old woman killed in Bearsden crash

A woman has died after being struck by a white Citreon in Bearsden.

Emergency services responded to a report of the collision on Speirs Road at around 12 pm.

The woman was pronounced dead and her family has been informed.

Speirs Road at Albert Drive was closed until 4.15pm to allow investigators to examine the scene and police inquiries are continuing.

Road Policing Sergeant Jon Mochan said: "We are supporting the woman's family at this incredibly difficult time.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision. I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash but has not yet spoken to police to come forward. I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dash cam footage which could help with our investigation."

Information can be provided to Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1484 of 28 May.
