Woman kicked onto railway tracks at Shotts train station

The British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses of the attack

The British Transport police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was kicked onto the train tracks at Shotts station.

The incident happened at around 10.50pm on Friday 26 January, as a train from Glasgow Central arrived at the North Lanarkshire town.

The victim had attempted to assist a woman on the train who appeared to be upset.

The woman and a man she was travelling with then assaulted the victim, and kicked her onto the railway tracks.

Officers are appealing to other passengers at the station who may have witnessed the incident take place to get in touch.
