Woman hospitalised after being hit by a stolen motorbike in Glasgow
The bike was taken from Edinburgh in December, before the incident on Hogmanay
A woman is in serious condition in hospital after being hit by a motorbike on New Year’s Eve.
The 68 year old pedestrian was crossing Mosspark Drive between Arbroath Avenue and Tealing Avenue around 8pm on December 31 when she was hit by the Yamaha MT-07.
She sustained serious injuries, and emergency services took her to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where she is in a stable condition.
The rider was travelling north towards Paisley Road West, on a bike which was stolen from an address in Edinburgh on December 19.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans, said: “There were a number of people in the area and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened, particularly if you have dash-cam footage or private CCTV that could assist with our enquiries.
“It is also vital that we trace the motorbike rider.
“Our investigation so far suggests he made off on foot along Tealing Avenue and onto Bucklaw Gardens so anyone in this area who saw him and where he went is also asked to get in touch.”
Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2984 of Sunday December 31 2023.
