A woman has been seriously injured after being struck by a car which mounted a pavement in a hit-and-run incident.
The 41-year-old was walking with her son on Mossland Road in Hillington, Glasgow, at about 5.35pm on Tuesday when she was hit by a burgundy Vauxhall Astra.
Four people in the car left the vehicle at the scene of the collision, which happened near to Atholl Avenue.
The woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where staff describe her condition as stable. Police Scotland said. Her son was not injured.
Inspector Lorraine Lorimer said: It would appear that the car, in which there were four people, lost control on Mossland Road, mounted the pavement, hit a road sign and then struck the woman.
The occupants of the car made off leaving the car at the scene.
At this time, officers are checking CCTV in the area to identify those responsible and would appeal for anyone who either witnessed the crash or who has any information that will assist officers with their inquiries to get in touch.''
