Woman who fell ill during Rangers v Aberdeen game dies in hospital

The 39-year-old was taken from Ibrox last night to the Queen Elizabeth where she couldn't be saved

A woman who fell ill at the Rangers Aberdeen game last night has died in hospital.

Emergency services were called to Ibrox and took the 39-year-old to the Queen Elizabeth.

Police are treating her death as unexplained but not suspicious and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Wednesday, 15 January, 2025, we received a report of a woman having taken unwell at a match at Ibrox Stadium.

“Emergency services attended and the 39-year-old woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she died.

“The death is being treated as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
