Woman Dies In Hospital After 'Setting Herself On Fire' At Clydebank Police Station

Police say a woman who is believed to have set herself on fire in Clydebank Police Office has died in hospital. 58 year old Katrien Pratts from Belgium was found injured in the reception area of the station on the 7th of January. Her death is not being treated as suspicous and a post mortem will be carried out.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The woman died within Glasgow Royal Infirmary on the evening of Thursday 22 January. Relatives are aware."

"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal. The death is not being treated as suspicious, however, a post mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death."

"As is standard procedure, the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner is conducting an investigation relating to Police Scotland’s contact with Ms Pratts in the lead up to the incident at Clydebank Police office on the 8 January."
